Raatihuoneenkatu 34, Art House – Culture, Crafts and Creativity in a Historic Building
The Art House, the auxiliary building of Kaskinen City Hall, is located at Raatihuoneenkatu 34 in the heart of the town. The building was constructed in 1888–1889 using logs from the old Customs House and originally served as a gymnasium and woodworking classroom for the Swedish elementary school. Later, it was used as staff facilities for the city's technical department.
Today, the Art House serves as a hub for creativity and craftsmanship. The building hosts facilities for courses organized by the Kaskinen Adult Education Centre as well as studios for artists and craftspeople. Current tenants include Marina Art Association, Wärkkäämö Arts and Crafts Workshop, and Niina Riska's Kaskinen Design Studio.
Visitors to the fair can explore both the history of the building and its present-day use as a vibrant centre for art, crafts and cultural activities.
The site is open during the official opening hours of the fair.
