Prinssi Erikinkatu 14 – Historic House and Garden
Built around 1890 by Anton and Josefiina Winter, this beautiful wooden house radiates history and the charm of old Kaskinen. The façade was renovated around 2012, and the current owners moved in during spring 2023. The ground floor received a surface renovation, but most of the work has focused on transforming the courtyard.
Prinssi Erikinkatu 14 is a late-19th-century home whose surroundings have undergone a remarkable transformation: the Kässäkolo handicraft shop, a woodworking workshop, a greenhouse, spacious terraces, and a new fence create an inspiring and functional whole. The yard has been levelled with over 200 cubic metres of soil, significantly changing its appearance.
During the fair
Open during the official opening hours of the fair.
Special programme: The owners will share stories about the house’s builders, Anton and Josefiina Winter, as well as the background and process of the courtyard renovation. During the fair days, a dyeing pot will be bubbling – yarn will be dyed with yellow wood sorrel, and if possible, there will be painting activities for children in the yard.
